1.  Numbers should be large enough
(both number height and width) to
be seen at the appropriate distance.
A good rule of thumb is for every ten
feet away (starting at 1" - 10') add
one inch of height for every ten feet
of distance.  2" - 20', 3' - 30'.  Avoid
"skinny" numbers.
Make sure your address is displayed appropriately and is easily
visible
to everyone.  It is simple if you follow these four basic rules:
2.  Numbers should be dark in
color with a highly contrasting
background AND reflective.
This allows for optimum day and
night visibility.  Be sure to use
REFLECTIVE numbers and
paints when identifying your
house.
3. Numbers should be
located in a standardized
location where emergency
responders and others are
looking for them (such as
by the front door and
under the porch light).
4. Numbers should be located where they
cannot be blocked by landscaping or vehicles.
Make sure your numbers are placed in the
appropriate places.
